Management

Manager/owner/safeguarding officer

My name is Karen and I am the owner manager of Little Angels I opened in February  2008. I opened the nursery as this had always been a dream of mine from being a teenager. I am qualified to NNEB, level 4 in early years, i have a foundation degree in early years ,and my  BA in early years. I have the Early Years Teacher Status in September 2013.This has benefited the nursery a great deal and will allow me to gain more knowledge.

I am level 3 safeguarding officer for the nursery, qualified first aider, behaviour management and qualified in food hygiene and health and safety too. I have competed a ten week elkan program to support children with speech and langauge delay in May 2016. We also work closely with the community in inviting the dentist in to encourage the parents about how important oral hygiene is.We visit the fire station as well as it is on our doorstop.

I am very proud that the nursery has a strong passion for a family run ethos. We have a lot of positive comments from parents regarding the fact it is run by family as we understand how important it is to choose the right nursery for your child. I have a strong vision for outdoor play as I studied this through my degree and we have an outstanding outdoor area where children are stimulated and learn so much through the exciting areas we have created for them. OFSTED and many professionals have commented on how beneficial our outdoors is for the children.I love my job and i am very proud that in 16 years i am now registered for 40 children. I have a very committed and dedicated team who put the children first and ensure their happiness is valued at all times.I  run  the pre-school room as i always wanted to continue working with children as well as owning my own nursery.I have a very valuable team here who all care about the children deeply. We have recently in July 2020 we have revamped the nursery and it a very natural setting now as we believe the children engage and interact  more in a calm environment and we work closely with other settings in the nursery to ensure we are providing high quality childcare. We are working differently now due to the covid 19 and the government guidelines that have been put into place but we can assure you the children are always at the heart of out learning.
